2017년 4월 28일 금요일 LA한국문화원에서는 「2017 ARI Project의 첫 무대인 <우정의 축제> 가 개최되었습니다.
On April 28th, Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles held “The Friendship Concert - Unity in Diversity” as part of the 2017 ARI PROJECT: Performing Arts Series.
<우정의 축제 ‘다양성 안에서의 조화’> (The Friendship Concert ‘Unity in Diversity’) 라는 주제를 담은 이번 공연은 Los Angeles 시의 가장 큰 아픔 중 하나인 4.29 LA폭동 25주년을 맞아 그때를 기억하고, 공연을 통하여 다인종 커뮤니티간의 교류와 화합, 그리고 우정의 메세지를 전하는 행사가되었습니다.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the 1992 Los Angeles Civil Unrest and The Friendship Concert is presented to remember the LA Riots through the promotions of tolerance, diversity, and love.
이번 공연에는 한국계 무용가 김영주를 비롯하여 흑인안무가, 남미계 미국인, 중국계 미국인 댄서, 미국인 무용가 등 여러 인종, 다양한 장르의 아티스트들이 참여해 음악과 무용 등을 선보여 객석을 가득매운 관객들과 함께 풀어나갔습니다.
Participating artists include Juli Kim (Artistic Director TAP), Julia Schafer, Paco Arroyo, Yolanda Arroyo, Pat Tayor, James Mahkween, Yoonsuk Choe, Hyunjung Melody Shim, Cehleste Lanuza, and Yuanyuan Jia, and they are all joining together at KCCLA for this special performance.

이번 공연은 LA 429 폭동 25주년을 맞아서 우리 한인들과 흑인, 라티노 예술가들이 모여 과거의 상처를 치유하고 화합하는 메시지를 전하고자 준비하게 되었습니다.
This Friendship Concert brought artists from diverse country together to convey a message of harmony and heal the wounds of 1992 Los Angeles Riots.

이번 공연은 모두가 함게 LA 4.29 폭동 25주년을 기념하는 자리로, 각자의 문화권을 벗어나
다양한 인종이 함께 모여 화합할 수 있다는 점에서 아티스트로써 매우 중요한 자리라고 생각합니다.
