[주LA한국문화원] 미공립학교 한국전통공연 교육 프로그램 수료식

LA한국문화원은 LA통합교육국의 Beyond the Bell 프로그램을 통해 LAUSD 소속 공립학교에 태권도 교육 프로그램과 한국 전통공연 교육 프로그램 과정을 9월 12일부터 10주간 실시하였으며, 각 프로그램의 수료식을 학교별로 개최하였습니다.

Starting September 12th, Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles has conducted the Taekwondo Education Program and Korean Traditional Music Program through LAUSD’s Beyond the Bell Program for 10 weeks. Each program’s showcase was hosted by the individual school.

2012년부터 시행된 한국 전통공연 교육 프로그램에는 올해 총 8개교 28개반이 개설되어 약 750여명의 학생들이 사물놀이, 탈춤, 전통 무용 등 다양한 국악 교습을 받았습니다.

The Korean Traditional Music Program that started with the idea of spreading Korean culture in 2012 was organized in 28 classes in 8 schools. Students learned samulnori (traditional percussion quartet), mask dance, and traditional Korean dance.

한국 전통공연 수료식에서 한국말로 추임새를 넣으며 학부모들과 친구들로부터 많은 박수와 응원을 받았습니다.

During the Rhythms of Korea Music and Dance Showcase, the students performed to many Korean music with such joy and pride, which amazed their friends and parents.

특히 저희 학교는 이중언어 반으로 Korean언어반과 Spanish언어반이 많이 있어요. 그런데 이제 Korean이중언어 반 학생들 뿐만 아니라 다민족 학생들한테도 한국의 문화와 여러가지 독특한 한국의 아름다움, 미를 가르킬 수 있는 기회이기 때문에 저희는 너무나 거기에 대해서 자랑스럽고...

At our school, we have a lot of dual language classes that teach both Korean and Spanish.

We’re so proud that students of different cultural backgrounds can also learn and enjoy the beauty of Korea and its culture. I’m especially thankful that these opportunities aren’t only limited to Korean students but is open to students of different ethnicities and cultures.
