예락[ye:rak] : 동양의 예와 서양의 즐거움이 만나 하나의 음악을 이룬다는
뜻을 가진 크로스오버 국악 앙상블
YE:RAK: A crossover gugak ensemble that represents the meeting of
eastern tradition (Ye) and western “Rock” to form a unity.

<인터뷰: 베이스 연주자>
이 밴드의 전부는 다문화라고 할 수 있어요. 여러 문화를 음악으로 하나 되게
하는 것입니다.
우리가 연주할 때 잘 들어보면 여러 가지 음악이 들리는데, 한국 음악, Lian
음악, 재즈, 그리고 클래식 음악까지 있어요. 그래서 저희 밴드는 항상 열려
있고 우리 스스로도 그렇게 연주하려고 해요. 저희 음악을 통해서 세계에 조
금이나마 화합을 가져오기를 바랍니다.
band is all about multiculturals and like bringing all different cultures
in music together.
you can probably tell from when we are playing
it's like bit of korean music,
some bit of lyan music,(?)
some jazz,
there's some classical music,
so we try to keep this oepn in tension(intention(?)) in mind with our
music
hopefully that brings piece of harmony through the worlds.

<인터뷰: 피리, 태평소 연주자>
오늘 연주한 악기는 두 종류인데요,
한국에서 피리라고 하는 악기입니다.
피리는 원래 세 종류가 있는데 오늘은 그 중에서도 향피리라는 악기를 했구요
,
그리고 태평소라는 악기입니다.
관악기이다 보니까 처음 듣는 분들에게도 크게 이질감 없이 들을 수 있는 그
런 사운드를 갖고 있고
작지만 존재감을 갖고 있잖아요 그런 게 피리의 매력이라고 생각합니다.
I played two types of instruments today, which is called “Piri” in
Korean.
There are three types of piri, and today I played the “hyang-piri” and
the “taepyeongso”.
Since these are both wind instruments, even those who hear the
sound for the first time can hear it with ease. And although piri is
small, its presence is sure to captivate everyone. I think that’s the
beauty of piri.

<인터뷰: 해금 연주자>
이것은 한국 전통 현악기인 해금이라고 하구요,
해금은 이렇게 두 줄로 되어 있는 사이에 말총을 끼어서

이렇게 밖으로 연주했다 안으로 연주했다,
왼손으로는 음의 높낮이를 조절하는 악기이구요
해금의 특징 중 하나는 음을 다 하나하나 만들어서 내는 악기라고 해서
작음악기라고 해요.
그래서 듣다 보면 어떤 느낌이냐면 노래하는 것 같아요
사람 목소리도 사실은 음을 다 만들어서 내는 것이기 때문에
해금이 굉장히 재미있는 게 하는 사람마다 소리가 다 달라요.
그런 맛이 있기 때문에 여러 연주자의 소리를 찾아 들어보시면 더 해금의 매력
을 더 아실 수 있을 것 같아요.
This is a traditional Korean string instrument called “Haegeum”.
You play the haegeum by putting the horsetail bow between two silk
strings. With your left hand, you control the highs and lows of the
melody.
An interesting characteristic about the haegeum is that you make
each note as you go, and these instruments are called “Jageum
instrument”.
So when you start listening to the music, it sounds like someone is
singing because it’s similar to how a person’s voice makes the notes
as he or she sings.
Haegeum sounds different depending on the player of the
instrument, so try listening to different people playing the haegeum.
You’ll fall more in love with it.?
