[워싱턴/해외문화PD] Korean embroidery workshop 한국 전통 자수 워크숍

조지 워싱턴 텍스타일 박물관과 숙명여대 박물관의 콜라보로 진행한 한국 자수 놓기 워크샵이 개최되었습니다.
워크샵 진행은 한국 무형문화재이신 김태자 명장님께서 진행해 주셨습니다.
박물관 회원을 대상으로 한 본 워크샵은 한국 전통 자수법을 활용해 손거울에 수를 놓는 활동이었습니다.
워크샵 후에는 간단한 다과로 마무리하였으며, 만족도가 높은 프로그램이었습니다.

*내래이션_ Visitors to the George Washington University Textile Museum recently experienced the artistry of traditional Korean embroidery during a sold-out workshop on May 2nd.

The curator of the Sookmyung Women's University Museum opened the program with an introduction to this time-honored traditional craft.

*내래이션_ Master embroiderer Kim TaeJa then guided participants in embroidering a hand mirror with flowers and other traditional motifs.

*내래이션_ Kim, recognized as a master of Korean embroidery in 1996, has spent a lifetime perfecting her craft.

This collaboration was held in conjunction with the exhibition Korean Craft: Yesterday and Today, at the Korean Cultural Center now through June 21st, 2019.
